



My workaround was to run the W10 hide windows update tool to prevent that update from installing until Microsoft releases a better update to the Intel processor security issue. I have posted some of those links below for your information. I found several links regarding that update and resultant issues almost exactly what you are describing. So, I googled the problem to see if there was a fix. I noticed this morning that my 8200 Elite CMT business desktop, with an Intel 2nd generation i7 core processor failed to install the subject update. I was aware of the recent Intel processor security flaw issue and that this patch was supposed to be in reaction to that.
